What we do and how we differ

Canberra Foot and Ankle Clinic treats all aspects of the foot and ankle, from simple corns and calluses, to complex issues such as arthritis and chronic heel pain. Unlike other podiatry clinics who treat the hip, knee, and ankle, we (although trained in the whole lower limb) as a clinic have decided to focus solely on the foot and ankle.

We have also partnered with other health professionals and our sister company, Proactive Performance, a sports and exercise podiatry centre focusing on a holistic approach to lower limb conditions with a mantra to ‘return to performance’.

This allows us to invest all of our time into studying the foot and ankle and develop specific treatment and management plans, inclusive of rehabilitation, exercise prescription, specific footwear prescription, and the designing of prescription orthotics for a niche area. By only focusing on the foot and ankle, we get it right.

Rather than knowing a little about a lot of areas, we know A LOT about the one little (but very complex) area.

We have found this approach to be very successful in alleviating our patients pain and getting them back to enjoying life and their favorite activities in the fastest way possible.

Our Mission

Our mission is to not be another ‘step’ on the road to recovery. We want to be your first and your last stop. If we are not your first point of call, we certainly want to be the last, as this means your issue has been resolved. We will provide honest advice, and at times it may be hard to accept, but we will always have your best interests at heart. We aim to provide the most up to date technology inside the most state-of-the-art clinics, all while working in a professional manner, but also having fun and making your healthcare an enjoyable experience.

Our Services

30 minutes · $130 Initial, $115 Follow Up

A ‘General Podiatry’ appointment will cover all things skin and nails. From having your nails trimmed as maintenance, having callus and corns removed, or warts and fungal nails treated. During your initial appointment a comprehensive assessment of your main concerns will be performed and a management plan will be created for you.

30 minutes · Initial $175, Follow Up $160

This service will provide a comprehensive assessment of your foot health. Vascular, neurological, muscular, joint, and footwear assessments will be conducted. A discussion about your blood glucose levels, physical activity levels and diet will also be done. A summary of findings will be explained to you and a management plan will be discussed to help you look after your feet. A complete report will then be sent to your General Practitioner and Endocrinologist.

Ingrown Toe Nail Surgery

1 hour · $500-$700

Ingrown toenail surgery is a permanent solution to fixing problematic re-occurring ingrown toenails. Ingrown toenail surgery involves removing the damaged, involuted, or ingrown section of the toenail and applying a chemical to destroy the matrix where the nail grows from. Studies have shown that this surgery has a 90 – 95% success rate. Prices start from $500 for one toe and $700 for two toes. This may sound expensive but compared to other clinics this would be one of, if not the most affordable in the ACT. For frequently returning ingrown toenails, this the most affordable and recommended long term solution.

60 minutes · $240

A Biomechanical Assessment is for those dealing with an injury and need professional advice regarding a diagnosis and rehabilitation plan. This appointment will entail thorough subjective history taking, objective measurements, footwear assessment/prescription, gait analysis and any imaging referrals (X-RAY, Ultrasound, MRI) that are required.
If 3D foot scans are required on your first consultation an additional $80 fee is charged. This saves you coming back in a weeks’ time and speeds up the process of fitting your devices.

60 minutes · $240

Children’s podiatry assessments fall into the biomechanical assessment appointment type and will entail thorough subjective history taking, objective measurements, footwear assessment/prescription, gait analysis, and any imaging referrals (X-RAY, Ultrasound, MRI) that are required.

Correcting any abnormalities from a young age is vitally important in reducing long term problems that can occur with un-treated biomechanical issues such as in-toe gait and flat foot.

$150-$590 (Devices)

Don’t pay $700 or more.
